Khan Younis – In a step that reflects the resilience of Palestinian civil society, the "Sawaed" team affiliated with Gaza Al-Khair Association has concluded the activities of a psycho-educational revitalization week held at the association’s main headquarters, following the team’s return after many months of forced displacement caused by the recent aggression.
The revitalization week lasted for six full days, from Saturday, November 8, 2025, to Thursday, November 13, 2025, and witnessed wide participation from children and their families from various neighborhoods surrounding the association’s headquarters.
The program included a carefully designed set of activities aimed at providing psychological and educational support to children affected by the conditions of war and displacement. These activities were:
- Energizing and movement-based games that helped restore positive energy and break down barriers of fear and tension among the children.
- A face-painting workshop that allowed children to express their imagination in a fun and safe way.
- A free drawing and coloring workshop that encouraged creativity and the development of fine motor skills.
- A specialized workshop for screening and detecting speech and language delay issues, conducted by speech therapy specialists, during which several cases were assessed, direct guidance was provided to mothers, and preliminary follow-up plans were developed.
- An awareness workshop on combating school and social bullying, which focused on teaching children how to handle negative situations, build self-confidence, and foster positive peer relationships.
The coordinator of the "Sawaed" team confirmed that this week marks the beginning of a series of programs that will be implemented successively at the association’s headquarters after its recovery, with the aim of providing ongoing psychological and educational support to the children of Gaza who have suffered through consecutive years of wars, siege, and displacement.
He added: “We have returned to our headquarters to affirm that life goes on, and that our core mission is to embrace our children and help them overcome the effects of trauma through scientific and well-studied programs.”
It is worth noting that Gaza Al-Khair Association and the "Sawaed" team have been working for years to implement psychological and educational support programs under exceptional circumstances. This week represents the first major official activity following the team’s return to its permanent headquarters.
Gaza is healing… step by step, and child by child.
