RO’A Hosts Workshop on Social Cohesion with Palestinian CSOs

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen conflict transformation and social cohesion in Palestine, RO’A Center for Political and Strategic Studies organized a workshop titled “From Fragmentation to Cohesion” for representatives of Palestinian civil society organizations (CSOs).

The workshop introduced participants to the Why It Worked toolkit and thePropeller Framework , developed by Harvard Kennedy School (HKS), as practical approaches for understanding and addressing complex social, political, and institutional challenges. Through interactive discussions and exercises, participants explored issues related to fragmentation, governance, trust-building, and civic participation, while examining how systems-level analysis can support more effective interventions and sustainable change.

The workshop formed part of a broader effort to adapt and contextualize the Why It Worked Propeller Framework for Palestinian civil society and community-based organizations. By introducing practical analytical tools, the workshop aimed to strengthen organizations’ ability to better understand the root causes of complex challenges, identify strategic entry points for intervention, and design more effective responses in contexts marked by social fragmentation, declining public trust, governance challenges, and shrinking civic space.

The workshop was implemented as part of the Sawasya III Joint Programme under the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
