The Palestinian Consultative Staff for Developing NGOs Conducts Specialized Social Media Management Training for Aqaba Municipality

As part of a series of interventions aimed at strengthening the capacities of Palestinian local authorities, the Palestinian Consultative Staff for Developing NGOs conducted a specialized training at Aqaba Municipality. The training was implemented under the project “Enhancing Diversity and Inclusion in Palestinian Local Authorities,” funded by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), with the participation of municipal council members and staff.

The training focused on the effective use of social media platforms as a key tool for engaging with citizens and enhancing institutional transparency. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of managing official municipal pages across various platforms, as well as methods for producing meaningful digital content that reflects the municipality’s achievements, projects, and services.

The sessions also covered advanced skills in building a strong institutional digital identity, developing content plans, and designing online awareness campaigns targeting different segments of the local community. Particular emphasis was placed on raising awareness about the importance of local revenue collection and its role in sustaining municipal services and improving infrastructure.

Participants highlighted that this type of training represents a valuable addition to their daily work, enabling them to expand engagement with citizens and strengthen trust between the municipality and its community, in line with principles of good governance and participatory management.

This activity is part of a comprehensive program implemented by the Palestinian Consultative Staff to build more inclusive, efficient, and responsive local authorities that better serve their communities.
